Scott Gillis is a founding member and Treasurer of GRDP’s Board of Directors. He serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of AIG Retirement Services Inc. (AIGRS). Since 2001, Scott has served as Senior Vice President and Principal Financial Officer of AIG Annuity Life Insurance Company and Variable Annuity Life Insurance Company. Gillis first joined AIGRS in 1985. He is currently responsible for all of the company’s accounting, tax, financial, reporting, and expense management functions in Los Angeles, Houston, Atlanta, Amarillo, and Jersey City.
AIG Retirement Services, Inc. (AIGRS), a member company of American International Group, Inc. (AIG), specializes in retirement savings and investment products and services, including individual variable and fixed annuities, group retirement products, mutual funds, financial planning and investment advisory services. AIGRS serves seven million customers with retirement savings products and services through its vast distribution network of registered representatives, independent broker-dealers, national and regional securities firms, banks and insurance agencies.
Scott began his career at AIGRS as Director of Audit. He served as vice president and controller of the SunAmerica Life Companies. He was promoted to senior vice president and controller in 1996, elected director in 2000, and then CFO in 2003. He was elected Vice President of AIG Retirement Services in 1998, made controller in 2000, promoted to Senior Vice President in 2001, and to CFO in 2004. Prior to joining AIGRS, Scott served as Vice President, Finance, of Integrated Circuits, Inc. in Seattle and as Divisional Controller with Siemens Energy and Automation in Portland. He began his career in 1975 with Price Waterhouse in Atlanta.
Scott, 52, earned his B.S. in accounting from Florida State University. He has been an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants during the last 12 years He is also a member of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants, the California Society of Certified Public Accountants, Financial Executives International, and the Institute of Certified Financial Planners. Scott also actively serves on a number of corporate and non-profit boards, including SunAmerica Life Insurance Company, AIG Annuity Company, Global Relief and Development Partners, Global Hope Network International, and the Impact XXI Foundation. He and his wife Vicki reside in Santa Clarita, California.
