First Workshop in 2010
Jan 27, 2010
GRDP hosted the first of four entrepreneur workshops on January 27 at the Sportsview Hotel.
The workshop series is called Creating a Bigger Future, and it will cover both strategic and tactical aspects of building your business. It is a program taught by entrepreneurs, for entrepreneurs.
The first cohort of Rwandese entrepreneurs met in a seminar-style program. The morning session covered strategic planning, and participants broke for lunch with the beginnings of a three-year growth plan. After lunch, the topics turned practical, with short, interactive presentations on How to Delegate and building a Sustainable Social Enterprise.
Each workshop will end with a set of clearly defined, measurable business goals for the next 90 days, and when the group reconvenes for the next quarterly workshop, we will review progress on each plan and set new goals for the next 90 days.
Entrepreneurs presenting and participating from the United States included GRDP Board Members David Ormesher and David Helmer, both successful business owners, Bruce King, a Chief Financial Officer and accounting expert, Dipanker Chakravarti, Professor of Marketing at the Johns Hopkins Carey School of Business, and Oksana Carlson, Director of the Global MBA Program at Johns Hopkins.
